The Blue Narragansett is a slate type bird with a diluted rusty tint to the body with disrupted barring in the wing feathers as well as a few random black spots and reddish tan tail with a blue band, finished off with a creme colored tip.
The genotype is (bb Dd nn/n-) bronze based, heterozygous for dominant slate with the addition of the Narragansett factor n, homozygous in toms nn and n- hemizygous in hens.
They do not breed true: Three results occur - Blue Narragansett, Dilute Lilac, and Narragansett. The latter two will breed true.
