The black tuxedo is homozygous for a black base with two copies of the mottling mutation cm (Genotype of BB cmcm). This is the same gene mutation that the painted variety carries. The black tuxedo typically has a mottling effect in the major wing feathers, this sometimes can also be seen in the tail but not always. This is a true breeding variety.
